5. Niesen
The mountain of all mountains (2362 m) is considered the
most beautiful mountain on Lake Thun - and rightly so. Many
paths lead to the summit. The easiest way is to take the
Niesen mountain railway; for those who like a little challenge,
there is a footpath from the lower terminus. Another option
is to start the hike from Wimmis. For your own safety, please
be aware that the altitude difference on this hike is 1700m
and hence requires sound physical condition. Nature path.
6. Culture

seeing with countless historic buildings, a number of museums and galleries. The Thun
castle also has a museum; the local art gallery is housed in the Thunerhof and
exhibitions change on a regular basis. Other sites worth visiting are the castle church,
the Scherzlingen church as well as the famous St. Beatus Caves.
